WELCOME! THANKS FOR VISITING!

I’ve heard it described as a sneeze. It starts with a little tickle until you can’t ignore it anymore. You itch your nose repeatedly but the tickle doesn’t go away until, out of nowhere, you are forced to give way to the sneeze. A sneeze that shakes up your whole body and takes you a few moments to recover from. And only after that body-shaking sneeze will the tickle go away. That is the best description I’ve heard for the seemingly uncontrollable experience of deciding to hike the entire Appalachian Trail.

In mid-2006, I started getting the tickles until I could no longer ignore them. I set out to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine the following March just three months after Eric and I became engaged on a day hike in northern Michigan. We had been together for ten years – since the days in high school when our teachers would scold us for holding hands in the hallway.

Somewhere between Georgia and Maine, I realized when I came home things would be different. I wanted to do something I loved. At that point, as I was working on the hardest thing I’d ever done physically, I decided that if I could accomplish my goal of hiking the Appalachian Trail I could probably accomplish my dream of a career in photography, something I denied myself as I changed majors approximately 13 times in college.

So, here I am. One amazing dream grew into another and I am honored to be present during the most memorable times in my clients’ lives. Thank you for your interest and your willingness to support a girl with big dreams. To visit my website and see what some of my very favorite things are, click here.

PHILOSOPHY
You will spend so much time and love making your day REFLECTIVE of who you are as a couple. I want to capture your personality and the many little details that make your day unique to you.

I want your photographs to be TIMELESS. In five, ten, or even fifty years, I hope you will love your photographs just like you love them the very first time you see them.

My goal is to capture the EMOTIONAL story being told on your day. From the tears walking up the aisle to the jumps for joy after it’s official. I want you to relive how you felt when you revisit your photographs years from now.

Tom Gould - Nicole … I live near Atlanta, not so far from Amicalola, and my 15 year old son and I hiked the AT Approach Trail up and back over July 4th weekend. It tweaked my interest in the AT enough such that I did some searching on the web and found trailjournals, and randomly found your journal. Over the last few months, off and on, I’ve read your updates, basically “walking” the trail with you. So … just a quick note to say, first, congratulations, and second, thanks for doing such a wonderful job documenting your journey. It gave me a terrific sense of what one goes through. And it’s nice to see how you went from photos of the trail to a career in the business.

Not that I’ll be taking this on myself anytime soon (job, family, etc.), but my son and I are going next weekend back to Amicalola for the Approach + beginning part for about 17 miles with his scout troop (the troop is looking to cover the GA paprt of the AT over the next couple years).

Anyway, thanks again for your journal … perhaps, you’ll get the itch again one day …!
