Nicole ... I live near Atlanta, not so far from Amicalola, and my 15 year old son and I hiked the AT Approach Trail up and back over July 4th weekend. It tweaked my interest in the AT enough such that I did some searching on the web and found trailjournals, and randomly found your journal. Over the last few months, off and on, I've read your updates, basically "walking" the trail with you. So ... just a quick note to say, first, congratulations, and second, thanks for doing such a wonderful job documenting your journey. It gave me a terrific sense of what one goes through. And it's nice to see how you went from photos of the trail to a career in the business.

Not that I'll be taking this on myself anytime soon (job, family, etc.), but my son and I are going next weekend back to Amicalola for the Approach + beginning part for about 17 miles with his scout troop (the troop is looking to cover the GA paprt of the AT over the next couple years).

Anyway, thanks again for your journal ... perhaps, you'll get the itch again one day ...!
