Ava – Portraits | Six Months

Wow, what a difference six months can make! You might remember Ava from her newborn session in May (or even from her mom’s maternity session) and now she’s sitting up, laughing at her sister, Ella, and keeping busy turning into a pretty little lady.

I know I’ve said it before but I LOVE when I have the opportunity to photograph a little one a few times as they grow. It’s such a treat for me to compare how they’ve changed!

Delinne, David, Ella and Ava: Thank you AGAIN! It is SO neat to see your family grow and change (so quickly!) and I appreciate it so much. Very best wishes to you guys as your little girls grow,

When I walked in, I saw Adia’s pigtails all tucked away in those little pink bows. Then, moments later, she put on her little pink cowboy boots so we could head outside. How’s that for being full of personality at two years old? What a doll! Meet Adia, who will be two in just a few short days…

Jane and I got together at the end of July for a maternity shoot so she could surprise her husband, Chris, with some belly photos while he was overseas. It was so exciting to be part of her surprise but even more exciting to finally meet their new little girl, Katelyn. I’m so happy we had the chance to do this…just look how sweet she is!

The Carey Family | Portraits

Wait until you see these kids. Two little blondies – brother and sister – and two little brunettes – brother and sister. All competing for most adorable.

To me, family sessions are the most fun when the kids are just being themselves which is why this session was a treat. We spent some time getting some great big family photos but then just sort of let the kids enjoy each other for a bit while I tried to keep up with them. And, this family had a great sense of humor so we have photos of groupings such as “grandma’s biggest pains in the neck,” which included a surprising amount of family members! What a nice Sunday afternoon. :)

Grace & Charlie | Portraits

On their visit home from Virginia last week, I was able to get together with Grace and Charlie and their mom and dad, Genna and Chad. We spent a fun evening at the MSU Gardens just wandering and playing and, for me, taking all of the energy of these two little ones in and hoping to capture it all with my camera. Just like last time, Grace loved being in front of the camera and her personality reminded me SO very much of her bright mama. It was also awesome to see a little more of Charlie’s growing personality – and all of his adorable smiles! It just never gets old watching kids be kids.

Chad, Genna, Grace and Charlie: It was really so nice to see you all again, I’m SO happy it worked out while you were in MI for a visit. It’s amazing for me to see how Grace and Charlie have grown and changed – and it’s SO fun for me to try and capture it all! All the best wishes to each of you. XO,

This year, I have been privileged enough to photograph a few little ones for the second time. There is something really neat about seeing how each child has grown and changed in the interim and to see how their personalities are taking shape. I met Elle around the time of her first birthday last year and we got together again for her second birthday this year. We had a tea party and a dance party. We blew bubbles and watered flowers. Elle showed me how she’s a master at Simon Says. It was a beautiful and fun morning – the kind you can only share with a little girl. :)

We, of course, had to revisit the window as we had in her one-year session. I love how Elle’s personality shines in these!

Lauren, Mike & Elle: Thank you so very much for the honor of photographing your family one more time. It was SO great to see how Elle has grown and to catch up with you both a little bit. You have such a beautiful girl and I hope you’ll enjoy these photographs of her for years and years! Cheers,
