Christine and Drew – Wedding

Christine and Drew’s wedding was all about anticipation for me. Every step of the way has been so exciting and full of surprises! I’ve been on the edge of my seat just waiting to post this.

It all started a couple of months ago when Sarah Postma contacted me via Twitter to see if I wanted to second shoot with her out in New Jersey. I was thrilled about the opportunity to finally meet Sarah, to visit New York City, and to shoot what sounded like an amazing wedding. When my plane finally landed in New York, I couldn’t wait to get to the wedding day. Sarah kept peppering me with more fun details about the wedding so I knew it was going to be an extremely spirited and exhilarating day.

The day of the wedding was brilliant. We woke up thinking it was going to thunderstorm and in a matter of hours, the skies cleared and provided the most perfect sunny day for an outside ceremony and cocktail hour at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Mansion. Christine was a dream – so laid back and glowing with the perfect amount of wedding day jitters. Drew was hilarious and he never failed to keep all of us laughing from start to finish. The day was full of other surprises both the bride and groom had arranged for each other – from Christine singing the hilarious “The Way I Am” to Drew at the beginning of the reception to a surprise cigar maker at the cocktail reception. It was a day that was all about the two of them and I had a blast sharing it. Thank you so much, Sarah, for the opportunity!

It was sooo tough to narrow these down but here are some of my favorites from the day:

I was so excited to photograph my first “first look” and now I am sold that it is THE way to go – I wish my husband and I had five minutes alone on our wedding day to just soak it all in.

Drew realized a few minutes later that the gray storm clouds were long gone and the sun had come to grace their day. I loved his reaction!

This flower girl stole everyone’s hearts all day long. I have a feeling she has a little bit of Christine in her!

And I hope she doesn’t mind me posting this second one but it totally sums up all of the fun we had behind the scenes as well as Christine’s great outgoing personality. Love it!

Later in the evening, Christine changed into something a little more traditional for her heritage. Absolutely smokin’…
