En and Ef – Wedding

When En met Jason and I at the salon the morning of her wedding, I knew right away it was going to be a good day. She had an underlying calmness about her that automatically put me at ease. The rest of the day sped along and, though I had never met En and Ef before, it didn’t take long before it was obvious how genuine their love was. Everyone was talking about it. Everyone was happy.

I had a great time second shooting for Jason Aten Photography and definitely felt like I was witnessing something that was always meant to happen. The day was gorgeous and the details of the wedding were stunning from start to finish – especially En’s dress! Wow – totally made me wish I could buy another one! It was an especially fabulous wedding because of the all of the traditions in the air – from the traditional kolanut prayer by En’s father at the reception to the flowers Ef carried to honor his mother. Every bit of it was wonderful. But on to the proof:

Did I say gorgeous? ‘Cause I meant it.

There were amazing pockets of light all over En and Ef’s home where En was getting ready. She was totally glowing!nfwedding014

The reception, at the University Marriott in East Lansing, had a great balcony just off the ballroom with some brilliant light. And…umm…a stunning bride in a stunning dress!

So, let me just say here, this wedding reception had some great dancing! There was an amazing family dance to kick things off and, after that, it didn’t stop. I was totally impressed with the energy you could feel all night!

Later in the evening, En and Ef went to change into authentic African clothing – and that’s when they really started to show their moves! I loved it!

At this point, it seemed like En and Ef were the only people in the room.

ksen : ) - beautyFULL! love the softness & happiness to all the images and emotions captured… you can tell they are a couple very much IN LOVE. congrats to the newlyweds!!June 7, 2009 – 2:50 pm

Sarah Postma - Nicole, great work capturing emotions; it’s one of the true purposes of photography, in my opinion. I especially love “laughing” images, so I’m drawn to the shot of the two of them smiling at each other on the balcony, and the portrait of the bride alone. I can almost hear her laughter. :)June 6, 2009 – 1:00 pm
