Today is a very special day here in my world. It’s Eric’s birthday. His 30th birthday! And it makes me think about how lucky I am to have found such a wonderful person to spend my life with. And how lucky I am that he is my best friend. And it makes me think about how when I was 14, and my dad thought we were too young to be dating and wouldn’t let us be alone together, I hoped we’d still be celebrating birthdays with each other after all of this time. And it makes me glad that, even though I think my dad’s advice is like gold today, I sometimes didn’t listen when I was younger. Sorry, Dad (love you).
