Melissa – Portraits

Melissa and I met back in April at a workshop we both attended in East Lansing and have been emailing a bit since then. The first time we got together after the workshop, we talked photo for a long while and planned what we referred to as a “photo adventure” where we could both snap some images of each other since we were both in need of some new head shots. I was super excited for our fun! The emails leading up to our photo adventure, though, got funnier as it approached with our last emails talking about how strangely nervous we both were – I mean, I know I was pretty happy behind the camera! We ended up having a blast taking photos at a local field we found and even managed to make a friend out of someone we thought was coming to bust us for trespassing!

As we shot last night, I realized another one of the many things I love about photography – it brings people totally out of their comfort zones. And, to me, that’s when there’s potential for some true fun!

Be sure to check out Melissa’s website for Telltale Photography too! Thanks, Melissa, for making what might have been an awkward situation a really fun time instead! I might have to start using your one and only photo joke!
