Michigan Photography – Fall Fun

When Eric and I arrived to our cottage rental on the Leelanau Peninsula last Friday, I was surprised to find out it was right on the crystal clear waters of Lake Leelanau. With it’s own little patch of woods and a great view of the fall colors from the living room, it was perfect. We enjoyed the weekend doing all things fall … and maybe a minute of winter when it snowed. It was a perfect getaway, complete with a trip to the apple orchard (those photos come later), visits to a few of Michigan’s finest wineries, and lots of stops along the way for photos. I love this time of year and I felt so lucky to be able to spend one whole weekend – three whole days – relaxing and soaking it all in with my best friend. Thank you, Eric!

Here’s the view from the cottage:

So, I couldn’t choose between the next two. I love the big, bold sky in the next one but I also love its reflections on the lake in the one after that.

These colors make me happy! I’m so lucky I was able to explore and find them all. :D When I was in Leelanau in the summer, it was a totally different world. It’s amazing how different a place can look.

Pumpkins! All kinds of pumpkins!

We stopped to take some photos of these guys specifically for our nephew, Nathan, so he could say, “moo.” He makes such cute animal noises.

And this last one I just love. Yes, it’s on an angle and no, that’s not perfect. But it was pitch black outside and I was hoping for the best! Those stars make me think I’m dreaming…

Happy fall to you! Hope you’re enjoying the colors and the wonder of the season.

Sean - Holy geez, Nicole! First of all, I'm super excited to see a post from you again and I had NO IDEA you could shoot landscapes like this! I was going to give it to the shots of the still lake with the huge sky, both of which I LOVE, but that last one of the night sky feels so surreal! GORGEOUS! What a retreat!October 16, 2009 - 1:06 am

sheri - Nicole -- Gorgeous pics!! I think alot of your followers somehow skipped over this post accidentally - I'm not sure why. I almost missed it too 'till I scrolled down below the lovely wedding pics. Anyway -- your Autumn in MI - looks much like mine here in CT. Awesome! Love them all especially the moo cows and starry night!October 22, 2009 - 12:55 pm
