The Little Things – Hiking

It’s finally March. And, for me, March is the time of year when I really start getting the urge to be out hiking more often. I love getting outside year-round but something about March signaling spring and spring signaling hiking clicks in my brain and I start thinking of all of the places I still have left to see in this big world. So I started digging through some of my hiking pictures…

There’s nothing better than a day’s worth of hard work paying off at a sensational waterfall, a great wooded camp spot, or an incredible vista.  There’s nothing better than getting there on your own two feet. There’s nothing better than getting there for close to free. It’s really a simple thing for those of us lucky enough to be in good health and near some sort of trail. It’s just a small thing that I like to do that makes me feel much more alive.

It’s just a little thing.  A little thing that makes me happy. Cheers to the little things that make your life happy.

Rose - Cheers for hiking! I love that too. So relaxing, so inspiring, so... high-lifting the spirit. :) Beautiful photo you have there, looks like an amazing place to walk and breathe or just look down. :DMarch 3, 2010 - 4:06 am

Sean - Fantastic! It is this time of year again, and like you, I'm really, really excited! Do you have a few hikes planned?March 3, 2010 - 4:36 pm

Cindy - Awesome shot! Way to go Chris.March 3, 2010 - 6:19 pm

Squish - Great shot of McAfee Knob! Persistent, I followed your Trail Journal back in '07 and total support your decision to go into business on your own. Love your work and wish I knew more people in the MI area so I could refer them your way. Springer Fever doesn't go away. We just need to set our businesses and our lives up in such a way that we can take those walks and maintain that sense of freedom. Keep up the good work!March 23, 2010 - 2:39 pm
