Well, here it is: the unofficial start of summer. Time to get out the picnic blankets, flip flops, hammocks, the Slip ‘n Slide (Oh, how great were those?), and all of the other fun things that go along with summer. This weekend I plan to do a little hiking in northern Michigan and a bit of canoeing in southern Michigan. I’ll get to see a little bit of the woods and a little bit of the water. I plan to get together with friends. Maybe enjoy a few refreshing summertime foods. But, most of all, I’ll have the opportunity to enjoy some of the little things that make summer such a great time in our state and that make me smile.
